🌿 Raised bed campaign of the Oldenburg State Savings Bank
As part of the raised garden bed project sponsored by the Oldenburg State Savings Bank, our school received valuable support this school year in the area of early childhood environmental education. The aim of the project is to introduce children to the topics of nature, plant growth, and biodiversity in a clear and practical way.
As early as August 2025, we received extensive learning materials about insect life, botany, and the importance of biodiversity. These were used and explored together in our environmental working group.
In September 2025, a practical workshop followed with the nature-oriented company. AlwaysColorful, where the students planted the new raised bed together (see photo).
Since then, the environmental club has been tending to the raised bed every week: The children observe plant growth, learn about the life cycle of different species, care for the bed, and plant new plants when necessary. This regular work not only promotes knowledge about the local ecosystem but also a sense of responsibility and a joy of learning in and with nature.
The raised bed campaign runs until March 2026 and we look forward to many more exciting discoveries.

The environmental working group has been taking care of it every week ever since.
The children are watching the plants.
They tend the flower bed.
And they are planting new plants.
This is how children learn responsibility.
And they learn with joy in nature.
The promotion runs until March 2026.
