School social work

Dear students, dear parents and guardians,

my name is Insa CoordesI am a qualified teacher and have been working in school social work at the Hude-Süd elementary school for several years.

For you, dear students, the most important thing is: I am Mondays and Thursdays at school. You can come to me anytime if something is bothering you, you're having an argument with someone, or you just need someone to talk to.

You can find me in first container in the schoolyard – or you can ask for me in the secretary’s office.

What does school social work do?

School social work is oriented towards the individual life situations of the children and families.
It offers an additional Advice and support services for children, parents and guardians as well as for teachers and other caregivers.

Focus of my work

  • Individual and group discussions for school-related or personal concerns
  • Parent-teacher meetings and parent work
  • Dispute resolution
  • Social and team training to strengthen cooperation
  • Moderation of class discussions
  • Accompaniment in class
  • Lunchtime care during free play time
  • Support with homework and group activities
  • Contact person for refugee children, their parents and volunteer carers
  • Cooperation and networking with child and youth welfare providers
